We asked Dr. Sally to lift the lid on our best-selling night cream and give us the tell-all about its unique formulation and why it makes the perfect addition to your evening skincare line-up.
What inspired the creation of our Ultra DNA³ Complex Recovery Night Cream?
When choosing a night cream, the tough part is finding one that nourishes the skin, provides optimal support during the skin’s overnight repair mode - and is actually comfortable to sleep in. Spoiler alert, our formula achieves exactly that - and more.
While we sleep, our skin’s temperature changes, we may feel extra dry or dehydrated (thanks to moisture loss), and our skin enters a repair mode. These night-time hours are crucial for giving your skin a well-deserved break to recover from daily environmental stressors, make up and UV radiation.
This was top of mind when testing and researching different formulas. We wanted to create a product that works in harmony with your skin’s night-time repair cycle - and ultimately, wakes you up to a supple, radiant complexion.
What ingredients make up this supercharged formula?
To tackle skin dehydration, humectants such as Sodium Hyaluronate and Glyercin were introduced. These multi-taskers work to draw and attract water to the skin, allowing for optimal hydration and moisture.
Jojoba, Grapeseed, Avocado Oil and Squalane were also added to support the skin’s lipid layer (the outer layer of the skin). These are lipids and natural oils that provide rich emollience, leaving even the most desert-like complexions feeling deeply nourished and comforted.
Partnering with these hydrating ingredients, enters Dynamic Night Activator3 Complex; a triple-enzyme complex made of Plankton Extract, Arabidopsis Thaliana Extract and Micrococcus Lysate (our favourite trio to work with). The combination of these enzymes works hard to support the skin’s natural night-time renewal cycle to deeply rejuvenate the appearance of the skin and restore hydration.
Since this night cream is a part of our evening skincare line-up, naturally, we had to include Damask Rose Extract. Aside from its delicate and calming aroma, rose extract has been known to help hydrate the skin by reducing dryness and leaving the skin feeling soft and supple.
It really does take beauty sleep to a whole new level.
